It's cold. We have no gas, which means we have no central heating, no hot water, and no stove/oven. Did I mention it's cold? The gas has been turned off for three days now. You probably already know this, unless you live under a rock, but there's a gas shortage that's spanning multiple states. I'm sure no one thought it would ever affect southern AZ, but yes, it does get cold here. I was lucky to be able to buy propane tanks for our camping heaters and an electric blanket. All the stores sold out of electric space heaters within hours. Propane tanks sold out in a couple days. Lots of people don't even have water because pipes froze and broke. Our pipes froze yesterday morning but luckily didn't break, and they thawed by around 10 AM. One of my friends who lives near the edge of the outage area was able to get her gas turned back on last night. No real word on when those of us who live out on the edges of town will get ours back on.
We all kind of look like orphans
with all our layers of mismatched clothing.
And we are all in need of a hot shower.

I'm one of those people living under a rock. I had no idea. I never know what is going on outside of my own little crazy bubble these days. Sorry you are all so cold. If we didn't have the flu running through our house, I'd say to come on up. We'd be happy to share our shower and warmth with you. Your little orphans are getting so big. They look so cute!
That's sounds completely miserable!! I've been in my house shivering and freezing with the thermostat set to 70! I'm sorry for all of you! I think the only thing we'd be able to do is to take turns with the hairdryer. I guess I should buy a space heater just in case...
haha! we ended up buying electric mattress pads and all huddled on top of them that night. I'm actually still using mine. whoa! who knew it would ever get THAT cold down here!!!
