M: What happens when we don't take our nap?
E: We get "bumpy" (grumpy)
M: Is it fun to be grumpy?
E: No.
M: Let's go take a nap so we can be happy later.
E: But I want to play outside.
M: If we take a nap now, then we can play outside when the kids come home from school.
E: (Big smile) Ok.
And off she goes to take a nap. Took a very long nap too. Happy times!!

Ahhh, naps! Without one I get a little "bumpy" too.
Naptime is the only way I can make through the day. It is nice to have a 2 hour break to clean & watch Oprah. ha!
